Outdoor Residential Learning Community (ORLC)

First Ascent Session for ORLC:
August 16 - 20, 2009 The Outdoor Residential Learning Community, housed in Doughton Hall, is designed for students that are interested in being a contributing member of a community, developing outdoor leadership skills, and exploring career opportunities in outdoor recreation. Students participating in the ORLC will start their experience at Appalachian by participating in First Ascent. Throughout their first year, the 22 ORLC community members will have opportunities to participate in outdoor skill development workshops and trainings hosted by Outdoor Programs.
If you are interested in developing and refining outdoor leadership skills, exploring career opportunities within the outdoor recreation profession and want to be part of an interactive and fun filled community, this is the place for you! No previous experience required... only a desire to participate, learn and grow
Information about your First Ascent participation will be sent to you once you have applied and been accepted into this learning community.
