2016 A4 Winners
Jackson Moody (18-24 category)
Jackson arrived at Appalachian State as an intended commercial photography major, but recently switched to recreation management with a focus in outdoor education. Jackson is involved with the University's Outdoor Programs; he works in the Outing Center, serves as a trip leader, and helps develop both the program's biking initiative and media marketing club. He also volunteers with Mountain Alliance, a program at Watauga High School that takes students on service and outdoor adventure trips. Some of his favorite outdoor activities include rock climbing, trail running, backpacking, and most recently, mountain biking.
Garrett Blakeley (17 and under category)
Garrett Blakeley is a sophomore at Watauga High School where he is an honor student. He has grown up in Boone and enjoys the many mountain sports the High Country has to offer. In the winter, Garrett loves snowboarding and indoor climbing and bouldering. In the spring, summer and fall, he can be found mountain biking, outdoor climbing and backpacking. Garrett also enjoys adventure racing with his dad.
