Favorite Memory at Outdoor Programs: Waking up in the early hours of the morning to catch the sunrisk on top of Table Rock during staff training. We shard laughs, stories, and goals while watching the blue ridge mountains come to life.
Why I love Appalachian: I love Appalachian State, because it has opened a world of new opportunities and experience I never imagined possible. The students and faculty are welcoming and encouraging, which produce a great environment for self growth and discovery. It helps that we live in such a beautiful playground. I have never once doubted my decision to join the App Community.
Trips - Land Program Assistant
Major: Interdisciplinary Studies - Wilderness Therapy
Favorite Outdoor Activities: Rock climbing, Trail Running, Cooking "Legendary" Backcountry Food, Trying to figure out riddles.
Favorite Memory at Outdoor Programs: Literally every trip or event hosted by OP has its own special memories... One thing that is always promised with OP is that you'll laugh really really hard. Taking people rock climbing for the first time and seeing them fall in love with it is always really special and memorable.
Why I love Appalachian: App is in the center of a never ending playground. You can climb on some world class rock with the most amazing people just about any day you want. The community and the mountains are constantly keeping me stoked on life.

Favorite Outdoor Activities: Kayaking, Rafting, Campus Class Five Biking, Climbing, and otherwise getting totally pitted
Favorite Memory at Outdoor Programs: On my First Ascent trip as a Freshman, because I was very shy and nervous, but the staff made me feel and included and part of the community. It was really important to my development as an App State student and inspired me to lead trips.
Why I love Appalachian: I love App, because Boone is great! I think Outdoor Programs is also neat, because we take people on "neature" walks through "neature" to show them how neat it truly is!
